The NFDC was originally set up to help clear rubble left from the Blitz back in 1941. It's aim back them was to make homes, offices and buildings safe after bomb damage.
Nowadays they help member's demolish safely and environmentally with a strict code of practice. They encourage training and work closely with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board).
They make sure all members are kept fully up to date with new legislation, health and safety and are trained in safety and skilled operating techniques. The NFDC also have their own NVQ accreditation centre.
