When taking on any decorating tasks you want to make sure you get the right results. This is especially so when painting or wallpapering. It’s best to do a test patch when painting by applying a small amount of paint on each of the walls. This way you can see how natural and artificial light affects the shade of the paint. If using a bold colour sometimes this can make a room to appear smaller, a good option to overcome this is to paint just one or two walls instead.
The same effect can also be achieved with wallpaper by papering just an alcove or chimney breast.
