Before any DIY job is undertaking thought and care must be put into the preparation. Check you have all the right tools for the job and they are in proper working condition. This also includes the correct clothing such as safety boots, goggles or masks.
If work is to be carried out inside the home make sure children and pets are kept well out of the way and that the work area is kept tidy and well ventilated if using paints or varnishes.
When you have finished your project, check and clean all tools and equipment before you pack then away. This will help to prolong their life.
