Sometimes when we undertake our own DIY we can end up making more mess or damage than before we started. Especially when we are using tools we are not familiar with or in a hurry to get a job done.
When hammering its easy to miss your target and you often end up with either a nasty bang on the thumb or a dent in the wood. Well if it’s the later there is an easy solution to put it right. If you cover the dent with a wet cloth then hold a warm iron over the cloth the dent will disappear due to the steam swelling the fibres of the wood.
If it’s the bruised thumb you also want to avoid then you could always get a professional in to do the work for you.
