There are a number of things you should check and consider before starting any DIY project. We have put together a list of tips and advice to help your task go safely and smoothly.
Make sure you wear the correct clothing for the task in hand
Keep your work area clutter free and power cables out of the way
Turn off the power if you are working with electricity
Keep all your blades, drill bits, chisels etc sharp, it makes the job much easier
If using ladders make sure they are firmly in position, or get someone to hold it
Keep your work area well ventilated if using paint, varnish or solvents
When using a saw or sanders use a dust mask and safety goggles
If you dont have the correct tools or skill for your DIY project then call in the experts.
