It is thought more people would recycle if it was made easier for them. It can be difficult to know what is acceptable to recycle and what is actually considered rubbish. Glass is one of the easiest products to recycle.
On average each household in the UK uses around 500 jars and bottles each year. Glass is full recyclable and can be recycled again and again. The biggest glass furnace can handle over a million jars and bottles every day. Unfortunately glass that is discarded as rubbish will end up in a landfill and will never decompose.
